LLM programming refers to using large language models to help write, modify, and reason about code or to build applications that rely on those models. In practice, that means prompting a model to generate functions, suggest fixes, explain code, or even produce documentation and tests based on natural-language requests. It also covers the engineering work needed to make those model-powered features reliable—like crafting effective prompts, validating outputs, chaining multiple model calls, and integrating models into tools or services. Because these models understand everyday language, they let people describe desired behavior in plain words and get concrete code examples in return. This approach matters because it lowers the barrier to programming, speeds up routine tasks, and can spark creative solutions by offering different ways to approach a problem. Still, model outputs can be flawed: they may invent facts, introduce subtle bugs, or reveal sensitive information, so outputs must be verified and tested before use. Best results come when LLM help is combined with human oversight, automated tests, and clear specifications. When managed carefully, LLM programming becomes a powerful assistant that amplifies a developer's skills rather than replacing them.
